Chronology

Luca Guadagnino's Exclusive "Chronology" on Nowness.com.

Luca Guadagnino, director of one of my all-time favourite films 'I Am Love', has made this hauntingly beautiful fashion-focused short film with online retailer Net-a-Porter. Italian model Mariacarla Boscono stars, and showcases stunning pieces by Christopher Kane, Miu Miu, Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino, Sigerson Morrison, Azzedine Alaia, and Alexis Bittar from the Fall 2010 collections.

If you haven't seen 'I Am Love' yet, starring the androgynous Scottish beauty Tilda Swinton, do rent it tonight. Guadagnino blends euphoria, sorrow, love, lust, fine cuisine, and fashion together in the most unforgettable way.

Eye Candy

Nazareth

Isabel first introduced me to Ethiopian cuisine last December at her favourite spot in the city, Nazareth. The little diamond in the rough is at Bloor and Ossington, and so worth the trip and the (usually) long wait. The food is amazing and the servers are very pleasant and kind. My favourite dishes are the fish and vegetable plates, which Jane, Isabel, and I shared on this particular occasion. Instead of cutlery you eat the stew-like platters with injera, which is a spongy yeast-risen flatbread. I highly recommend to carnivores and herbivores alike.

Meadham Kirchhoff x Topshop

Meadham Kirchhoff's second collection for Topshop was released on Friday in select stores and online, and it is glorious. Edward Meadham described their aesthetic as, "this whole mix of finding anything that you think is lovely and not considering whether or not it’s tasteful, or valuable, or coherent somehow. It’s about coming across anything you like and thinking ‘yes!’" Their influences for the collection were, "really early Marilyn Manson and The Spooky Kids reference, tones of Riot Grrrl references, My Little Pony, and every other aspect of plastic, pink, infantile-ness. The idea of girls in general, of girls being empowered by being a girl and not trying to become androgynous in pursuit of being taken seriously is what basically inspired it." Everything is completely layerable without looking too put-together, and the pink tinsel skirt is particularly amazing.
